PCB Quartz Force Sensor Series Category:Dynamic force sensor

Introduction:PCB quartz force sensor series, including universal quartz force sensor, miniature quartz force sensor, quartz ICP force ring, three-axis quartz force chain and other sensors.

  • Description

Quartz piezoelectric force sensors are highly reliable and have outstanding dynamic force and strain measurement characteristics. Typical measurements include dynamic and quasi-static forces during actuation, compression, shock, impulse, reaction and tension.

Long-term static force measurements are not feasible because the measurement signal generated by the quartz sensor decays over time, however short-term or quasi-static measurements are desirable within certain time limits, depending on the sensor and signal conditioner used. For dynamic force applications, quartz force sensors offer many unique advantages and features that make them ideal for most dynamic force measurements.

[Triaxial Quartz Force Chain] 261 Series

The Tri-Axis Quartz Force Chain is capable of monitoring dynamic forces in three orthogonal directions (X, Y, Z) simultaneously. The sensor contains three sets of quartz ring-type discs that are stacked together under preload. Each set of quartz ring-type discs responds to a vector force along its axis of sensitivity. The triaxial force rings must be statically preloaded to maintain optimum performance in a stable manner. The preload provides the sensing element with the compressive load required to allow for proper shear transfer. PCB has sensors with measuring ranges of up to 45kN in the Z axis (perpendicular to the top surface) and up to 18kN (in shear) in the X and Y axes. ICP and charge output types are available.

The triaxial force chain eliminates the requirement for triaxial force ring preload. The transducers are supplied with two convenient assembly plates with four screw holes which are fixed to each end of the transducer. The quartz triaxial force chain is constructed by mounting the triaxial force transducer between two assembly plates that apply a preload force to it.

Features: simple flange mounting, fixed preload mounting, triaxial force measurement (Fx Fy Fz)
